Website Review Info and Revision Progress (as of 9/15/2025)
The BCDP Web Site is currently hosted on Weebly. We have the following 2 high-level goals:
Goal 1 - Implement easy revisions to existing environment as patches until we accomplish the 2nd goal. Hold off on the migration to WIX until we have most of the changes implemented. - Ongoing
Goal 2 - Migrate from Weebly to WIX and implement more modern features that Weebly does not support. Initial Viable Product.
We have received many suggestions from our readers and fortunately we also received a detailed analysis from a professional that listed 77 items dealing with usability, graphics, and content. We implement most or these changes.
Goal 1 - The following is a summary of most of the changes to existing Weebly Hosted site:
Home page - "Announcement" box at the top; Provides an "above-the-fold" place for the most urgent annumcement.
Footer - Site map added with larger text.
About Us/Clubs - Cleaned up old text and added Club logos.
About Us/Elected - Images reorganized and sustaining Members added.
Get Involved - New section Get Involved. Consolidates and updated four areas: Start Here, Volunteer, Election Workers, and Sustaining Members.
Events - Now has the following four pull down areas:
Events - Biggest change. We now have a combined calendar and 7 "Jump to" areas.
BCDP (official) Events Calendar - Cleaner look.
Candidates - Implemented a more standard format with a white box for link visibility.
Submit an Event - Added the question if the person submitting the event is a Sustaing Member
Issues - This area currently has eight pull downs. Pull downs are fluid and can be revised/added quickly. The current eight pull downs are: Press Releases, Issues 2025, Gerrymander, Podcasts, Worker Poems, Hill Country Floods, Rights and Immigration (who represents you), and Federal Workers,
Voter Info-Elections - Consolidated and clarified into the following two pull downs: Voter Info and Elections.
Precinct Chair - Consolidated and clarified into the following four pages:
File for Precinct Chair - Used only for the current filing period to get on the March 2026 Primary ballot. This page goes away on December 9, 2025.
Become a Precinct Chair - Cleaned up.
Precinct Chair Action - Updated, more straight forward.
Precinct Training - We now have a much needed consolidated/up top Precinct Chair area.
Under Development - Stored away in the Donate/Contact/Media menu is a pull down called Under Development. Here we have a list of additional pages that need development and they are: Social Media, Merchandise, Civics, and Public Resources.
If we believe Goal 1 is as complete as it can be, work on Goal 2 can begin.
