Hill Country Flood, July 2025
A Message from Our Chair
The flood in the Hill Country, which killed more than 130 people, was an unspeakable tragedy.  But this tragedy was preventable. The Trump administration gutted FEMA and the National Weather Service, the Texas Legislature punted on emergency warning systems, and even county officials didn't take necessary action when they had the opportunity to do so.

The Bexar County Democratic Party has partnered with neighboring Democratic county chairs to call out Republican negligence. Families who were camping over the holiday weekend, girls at a summer camp, and residents who had no expectation that there would be no warning have been lost.  We honor those who died by demanding accountability from those who could have prevented this. And we demand leaders who give a damn about the people of this great state.
