2)  The Texas Secretary of State 2026 Candidates Guide is located HERE.

3)  Information for filing in the Democratic Primary is located HERE.

4)  Election Forms Index - Find the latest version of the candidate application and petition HERE.

5)  Candidate Application Forms + Candidate Petition Forms + Filing Fees.

Per the Texas Election Code, candidates who are using either the Petition in Lieu of a Filing Fee or the Petition for Judicial Office for a Primary Election may use either the forms dated 08/2025 or 09/2023. We highly recommend that all candidates carefully review the version date on the forms they have been using to gather signatures.

Non-judicial candidate's application must be accompanied by either a filing fee and/or a completed Petition in Lieu of a Filing Fee. Please see Sections 172.021(e), 172.025(a), Texas Election Code, for the required number of signatures on a submitted Petition in Lieu of a Filing Fee. The filing fees list is included as part of the application form.

A judicial candidate's application must be accompanied by a filing fee and a completed Petition for Judicial Office for a Primary Election with a minimum of 250 signatures. The list of filing fees is included as part of the application form.

6)  The Candidate Ballot Draw is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Firefighters Hall, 8925 I-10 Frontage Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78230 from 5:00 – 6:30pm.

Please attend or send a representative to draw for your place on the primary ballot.

After the Ballot Draw, we are having a Christmas-themed modified CEC meeting beginning at 6:30pm.   Candidates are welcome to attend.

We look forward to a smooth and easy Primary Filing Period, and wish good luck to all our amazing Democrats running to serve Bexar County!
